It's Thursday and we're all cordially invited to witness the fun as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tries to ruin Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan's (Paul Wesley) first official date. After a few bites and squabbles on last week's "Friday Night Bites" episode, The Vampire Diaries will offer a glimpse into the Salvatore family's past as Elena asks Stefan to accompany her to the town's annual Founder's Party, where we see them kissing and dancing.
It's a date alright but don't expect it to be all cheesy and romantic, though, since Damon has a few tricks up his sleeve in trying to turn Elena against Stefan. And based on the promo trailer, it looks like Damon's succeeding.
Basically, Damon tells Elena a story about the Salvatore family's past, leaving Elena with questions that Stefan refuses to answer. While Elena enjoys the mystery that is Stefan, she gradually realizes that she doesn't know anything about him so he pressures him to open up, particularly about Katherine, and unburden some of the drama in his life since that's what she's been doing to him anyway. Stefan is quick to catch on that Damon is just messing with him and Elena again but it seems like she's bound to believe what other people are telling her now that Stefan doesn't want to talk.
Luckily, Zach (Chris William Martin) reveals a family secret to Stefan which he can use to his advantage. At wit's end, Stefan finally takes action to get Damon out of his life for good. Though I'm sure we'll be seeing Damon again, I'm curious to find out how Stefan will pull this one off.
Meanwhile, Vicki (Kayla Ewell) gets Tyler (Michael Trevino) to ask her to the party, then accuses him of trying to hide their relationship from his family.
