There's no telling how far Damon would go to get what he wants but it's pretty clear from the pilot episode of The Vampire Diaries
that he's dead serious in making Stefan's life miserable, whether it means letting Stefan take the blame for a recent attack or coming in between Stefan and his love interest Elena. And it looks as though the love triangle officially begins tonight in the episode called "The Night of the Comet."
The season opener of The Vampire Diaries
didn't really disappoint me since my expectations for the show weren't that high to begin with. But hopefully things will get interesting as Elena goes to the Salvatore house to talk to Stefan but ends up meeting Damon instead. Damon quickly puts on the charm and takes advantage of the fact that she's alone with him by revealing some surprising information about Stefan's past love and how he thought he'd never get over her, suggesting to Elena that she might just be another rebound girl. Kudos to Damon for obviously knowing how to manipulate the situation to his favor.
How will Stefan remedy the situation? That remains to be seen but it's going to be a tough challenge for Stefan to convince Elena otherwise since, upon his arrival, he immediately makes her feel that he isn't happy to see her in his home.
Meanwhile, Vicki's memory of the attack begins to haunt her since Stefan's attempt to glamour her is cut short with the arrival of her brother Matt at the hospital. And as Mystic Falls prepares for a festival to celebrate the passing of a comet, Jeremy continues to struggle at school and with his feelings for Vicki. On the other hand, Aunt Jenna starts to feel like she's failing as a surrogate parent at a parent-teacher conference, especially when it comes to Jeremy.
