The Vampire Diaries appears to have a never-ending influx of hot vampire guest stars. And now that the Tomb has been opened, we can expect that things can only get better from here.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Martines will join the cast of The Vampire Diaries as a bloodsucker named Frederick, one of the vampires locked up in the Tomb. Considering how long he's been without blood, fans can expect him to go wild when he's released.

Martines, who is sometimes credited as Coltin Scott, is no stranger to the Daytime TV. He's played Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital from 1999 to 2003 before landing the role of Antonio "Tony" Santos on Guiding Light, a series he was a part of for two years. His most recent role was on The Closer where he appeared as hard-hitting reporter Ricardo Ramos for nine episodes.

Meanwhile, Frederick's escape from the tomb is yet another mystery to be solved. Last time we saw The Vampire Diaries, Bonnie and Grams were able to bring the spell down temporarily, which allowed Elena, the Salvatore brothers, Anna and Pearl to escape before the Tomb was sealed again. If you recall, there's another vampire who was able to mysteriously get out. Could it be Frederick? Or is it another vampire? How did he get out? We'll find out as The Vampire Diaries returns with new episodes beginning March 25.  In the mean time, check back here for spoilers and updates.
