Edie Falco Biography: Three-time Emmy award-winning actress Edie Falco was born on July 5, 1963 in Brooklyn. Edie, who was raised in Northport, Long Island, studied at the State University of New York in Purchase, along her fellow actors and close friends Ving Rhames and Stanley Tucci. Her first big movie break was the Woody Allen film, Bullets Over Broadway. Edie gained the distinction of being the only actress who won an Emmy award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild trophy in the same year. Carmela Soprano is played by Edie Falco on HBO's hit drama series The Sopranos. Carmela is the wife of Tony, the first lady of the New Jersey mob.
