The Real World Sydney: Episode 8 Recap
Wednesday, September 19, 2007

On tonight's episode of The Real World, the roomies hear that gay and lesbian Mardi Gras is going to take place in Sydney and most plan on going.  Cohutta feels apprehensive about going while Isaac is all about it.  Trisha gets an email from her family, telling her to treat herself and others well while in Australia.  If only she'd take their advice.

The roomies pile into the car to head to Sydney Harbor and walk around.  While out, Cohutta starts to get sick of Trisha's complaining.  The seven head in separate directions. Trisha hears one of her favorite church songs be played and takes Kelly Anne with her who also knows the song.  Trisha worries that she's going against God's plans by drinking too much and especially by making plans to go to gay Mardi Gras.

In the car, Trisha struggles with what choices she should make that would please her family and please God.  Parisa tries to offer support to her but the boys of the house don't seem to care or be sympathetic.  As some get ready to go out, Dunbar seems a bit too excited for gay Mardi Gras.  Trisha confides in Cohutta about what she's been feeling and it seems he understand where she's coming from.

The roommates who are going to Mardi Gras put on some crazy outfits and head out.  They're all pretty glad that Trisha isn't there to spoil their good time but Shauvon is offended that Trisha seems so close minded.  Kelly Anne and Cohutta stay behind with Trisha.  When he grabs Trisha's dress, she feels offended even though he tries to apologize.

While Shauvon, Parisa, Dunbar, and Isaac are having a good time, Trisha and Cohutta are busy telling each other to shut up and calling each other dumb.  Boy, Kelly Anne must be having a great time.  It's pretty cool to see a group of open minded people just having a great time at Mardi Gras!  It seems like a party you wouldn't want to miss for anything in the world.

The four return home to rave about the great time that they had.  Kelly Anne wishes that she had gone.  When Dunbar asks where the three who stayed home went, they gave the only answer that seemed appropriate: "hell".  Dunbar shares a pretty personal secret about his grandfather who treated him very inappropriately growing up and the roommates are grateful to have some insight into his personality.  Cohutta and Trisha talk things out and decide to avoid each other so that they can avoid fighting.
