'RHONY' News Roundup: New Housewives, New Show and More Casting Drama
Staff Writer, BuddyTV
Now that Bravo has officially confirmed that Cindy Barshop, Alex McCord, Jill Zarin, and Kelly Killoren Bensimon will not be returning for season 5 of The Real Housewives of New York City, another controversy has worked its way into the tabloids. Rumor has it that Ramona Singer was the one responsible for Jill's departure on the show so that she could make room for own her friends.

A source told Us Weekly, Singer "came to Bravo with a few pals she thought would make good additions. Bravo decided to go with the new girls and not Jill, so Ramona basically ran her off the show."

Ramona, on the other hand, asserted that she doesn't hold that much influence when it comes to big decisions on the show. "We can recommend people to come to the show, but it's not my decision," she explained.

So how does Jill feel about all this?  Most recently, she expressed her grief  on Good Morning America and referred to The Real Housewives of New York City as "a toxic environment."

"It didn't feel good. Nobody likes to not be asked back to the party,"said Jill, who also teased on her website about a new show she will be appearing on in the future.

As for Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen, all hope is not yet lost. The former RHONY couple is reportedly making negotiations with Bravo as part of their last ditch effort to stay in the limelight. Eonline.com says that a source told Bravo, "They're not accepting that it's done. They are meeting with Bravo this afternoon and Bravo doesn't want them on the show, but Andy would like them to pop up occasionally, whether on Housewives or other programs on the network is what they're saying."

Meanwhile, it looks like Bravo has already found replacements for the axed housewives. A source told New York Daily News that author Carole Radziwill, fashion designer Heather Thomson and Wall Street wife Aviva Drescher will  join The Real Housewives of New York City for its fifth season.
