Bethenny Frankel, Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer traveled to Columbia earlier this month while the cameras were filming their getaway for The Real Housewives of New York City's upcoming 10th season. Unfortunately, their pleasure cruise took a very dangerous turn.
According to Page Six
, the cast was booked onto an old decrepit vessel for their visit to Cartagena, Colombia. "Once they were ushered on board, the boat couldn't even move. The anchor got stuck, so the crew had to saw the anchor off before they could sail anywhere," the source said. "When they got out to sea, the engine caught fire. It was a huge blaze and the crew was fighting to put it out. They didn't have a fire extinguisher nor did they speak English."
To make matters worse, the sea was rough as the RHONY cast was in total chaos on the boat. "The seats and other things on board that weren't nailed down started flying about," the source added. Water was going in the boat "and there were only two or three life jackets for everyone on board."
As for the RHONY cast, "they all thought they were going to die and they were hysterical."
"Bethenny, Ramona and Dorinda were soaked and screaming hysterically, Carole and Tinsley were literally throwing up from seasickness. They were far out to sea and they thought they were going down like the Titanic," the source revealed about the Bravo stars.
Meanwhile, the network has already released a statement, claiming that the Housewives are now doing fine.
"The Real Housewives of New York cast was recently on a boat in South America and encountered turbulent water. Thankfully, everyone is fine and was able to continue their vacation as planned," the network said in a statement on Tuesday. "The safety of our cast and crew is paramount and, to that end, we are doing a full investigation."
