Teresa and Joe, who were accompanied by other friends and family, got into a confrontation with a teenage girl beach worker at the 20th Street beach in Ship Bottom, New Jersey, this Saturday, according to TMZ
. The beach worker asked to see their "beach badges," which the Giudices had not paid the $5 to purchase as the cost of admission.
According to witnesses, things started to get heated when the Giudices refused to show the worker their badges and also refused to pay $5 to buy one. The couple apparently got very hostile, in a profanity-laced rant against the worker.
"They were getting loud," Ship Bottom Police Chief Paul Sharkey told NBC Philadelphia
. "There was some language used. Our guys thought it was inappropriate."
When the police arrived at the scene, they managed to calm the family down and the group eventually coughed up the money for the admission fee.
"The nice little badge checker went home crying," a beach witness told NBC. "I felt terrible for the little girl."
The police did not file any charges, but Teresa and Joe are each facing up to 30 years in prison for 39 counts, including bank fraud, tax evasion and bankruptcy fraud, and Joe may even be deported back to Italy.
