If you're a Game of Thrones
fan, you might want to check out ABC's upcoming fantasy reality series, The Quest
, which might just be the perfect TV distraction this summer. The show takes viewers to a mythical realm where 12 contestants are given the chance to experience Middle-earth and compete in epic battles. Video trailers have already given viewers a glimpse of the brain child of the producers of The Lord of the Rings
trilogy and the producers of The Amazing Race
but a recently released promo takes a step further to explain what ABC's The Quest
is really all about.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
According to the video below, The Quest is essentially "a scripted fantasy world for unscripted reality contestants." Producers even attempted to create the world of Everealm as authentic as possible by immersing the cast in training camp, horse camp, sword camp and archery camp, among other things.
In another clip, we get a first look at The Quest's intro which is all about the world of Everealm, described as a land of beauty and great magical power. A map shows that 12 kingdoms coexisted with harmony for centuries until evil forces took over. Now the fate of Everealm is in the hands of 12 outsiders who will be put to the test until one hero emerges.
The Quest premieres Thursday, July 31 at 8pm on ABC.
