Adrien Sharp, who joined the third season of
The Next Food Network Star, is taking another shot in the spotlight by appearing in two segments of TLC's
Home Made Simple. Filmed two months ago in Miami, the weekly program centers on a family looking to simplify their homes and lives. The former participant of the
Next Food Network Star will reportedly join two other experts, consisting of a carpenter and an interior decorator, to make the renovation happen.
"I talked to each family and did prep work one day, then showed them some meals they could prepare," Sharp, who revealed that this opportunity came on the heels of his stint on
The Next Food Network Star, told mlive.com.
"I hired an agent with Abram's Artists Agency in New York City and she lined it up for me to try out for the TLC show. I flew there in the morning, did the screen test in the afternoon and flew home that evening," he added.
Craig H. Shepherd, executive producer of
Home Made Simple, explained that Sharp landed these appearances "because he brings a great energy to the camera."
"He has a sort of cool hip factor, a likability. If you hang out with him for five minutes you become his friend, he has this great ability to strike up a friendship, as well as to cook," Shepherd said of Sharp.
Home Made Simple is currently on its fourth season. And while Sharp has only signed on for two episodes, Shepherd wouldn't say if Sharp would land a permanent spot on the show. On the other hand, Shepherd hints that “one never knows.”
Meanwhile, Sharp isn't giving up hope on landing his dream television show that would combine his love for food and music.
"I always feel positive that something good is going to happen," he said. "If I stopped trying, I wouldn't get anywhere."
