During the Arrow
season 2 finale, one day before the CW's Upfront presentation for the
2014-2015 season, fans got a special sneak peek at the show's highly
anticipated spin-off, The Flash
. Watch the Full-Length Trailer for The Flash>>
The minute-long clip was very heavy on Arrow
star Stephen Amell as his hooded character fired an arrow in a wide-open field. Blurs of electricity raced through the hills until, in slow motion, we see the spiraling arrow get caught by none other than The Flash.Photos: First Look a the Flash's Costume>>
Grant Gustin, in full Flash costume, was perfectly excited with his newfound power. "Show off," muttered before loading up his bow with three arrows. The final "Game on" promises a lot of excitement.
The bigger question is: Does this teaser mean lots of Arrow
crossover events in the future? Given the impact Gustin's Barry Allen made in the middle of Arrow
season 2, especially on Felicity Smoak, crossovers seem inevitable.
The teaser also suggests that The Flash might have a lighter, or at least more enjoyable, tone. Arrow
, great as it is, revels in the darkness and moral ambiguity of its characters. But with Barry Allen, a geeky scientist who suddenly gets the ability to run at impossible speeds, The Flash
may have more fun.
More details on The Flash
, including its time slot and most likely a longer trailer for the series, will come Thursday morning from the CW.(Image and video courtesy of the CW)
