You go girl. You're looking great and definitely are an inspiration.
"I couldn’t believe after disclosing that I have PCOS in a quick little statement on the show how many women have contacted me suffering from the same condition," Julie told Jimmy Moore.
"It’s a vicious cycle, because PCOS makes it so much easier to gain weight and so much harder to lose it," Julie said of the illness. "And yet every doctor I ever talked to said that losing the weight would improve my condition. It was so frustrating! The best solution I have found to combating my PCOS is living a healthy, balanced life which includes eating right and exercising."
Through her experience on
The Biggest Loser, Julie learned the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and has indeed improved her condition.
"Since my
Biggest Loser experience, my symptoms are much, much better," she admitted. "But they are still with me to some degree."
Nonetheless, Julie continues to inspire through her visits to local schools and the messages she posts on her blogs.
Julie wrote in her blog, "I am flattered that people even care what I have to say. I still maintain that I am just an ordinary person who was presented with an opportunity to take control of an area of my life that was in desperate need of some attention. I really do mean it when I say, 'If I can do - anybody can do it. There's nothing extraordinary about me.' Actually it seems to be that statement that resonates so loudly with people. And I am thankful that I can share that viewpoint because I really do believe it."
