Wes Hayden has been accused of everything, from coming to The Bachelorette
to promote his music career to having a girlfriend back home. He's been labeled as the show's resident bad boy and has now become arguably the most hated contestant in Bachelorette
history. In spite of everything, Wes claims that he has no hard feelings toward love searcher Jillian Harris and fellow contestant Jake Pavelka, who further tainted his reputation by letting the cat out of the bag.
"I think she's a great person, she's funny and attractive and smart," Wes told the NY Daily News
. "She doesn't need a TV show to fall in love and get married. She can do that on her own."
Whether or not the accusations about Wes are true, his reputation remains stained. He now struggles with his country music career since booking gigs is now harder than ever. Those that have canceled, on the other hand, have spelled out their reason clearly.
"They've said, 'Basically, nobody's going to show up," Wes told People
. "Nobody wants to see this guy that everybody thinks is a bad guy."
But Wes isn't the only one who's been bombarded by angry calls and emails. His accused girlfriend, Laurel Kagay, has also been struggling with post-Bachelorette
"We haven't been together since last July or August," he said. "She's going through hell right now. People are calling her a bitch and a whore and are telling people to boycott her business, which she's worked hard to do for years and years. She's finally successful, and now she's getting phone calls at all hours of the night."
Next week, ABC will be airing The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All
reunion special which will feature many of the season's eliminated bachelors. However, don't count on Wes to make an appearance. To find out why, read on these Bachelorette finale spoilers
