Lauren Burnham is standing by Arie Luyendyk Jr. as he deals with all the backlash stemming from his actions on The Bachelor season 22 finale. The 36-year-old race car driver had a change of heart after proposing to Becca Kufrin, resulting to the end of one engagement and the beginning of another. Despite Arie's seemingly fickle decision, Lauren remains confident that he won't change his mind again.

"It was worth risking getting hurt again to see where it could go," Lauren told People. "We've had a lot of conversations about it, and I know he won't change his mind again."

"It makes things easier for me knowing that he was able to be with Becca outside of this experience and he still knew that wasn't what he wanted," she added. "It gives me confidence in our relationship knowing that he truly wants to be with me and he took this huge risk to make it happen."

Initially, Lauren was having second thoughts when Arie first reached out to her while he was still engaged to Becca. He texted her on New Year's Eve, asking if they could talk. "I did have some reservations," she recalled. "I was just afraid he would change his mind again."

But after Arie came clean about his feelings, things became clearer for Lauren.  "I was just like, 'We need to do it, you need to take the risk if this means a lot to you and you need to follow your heart. If not, then we don't need to talk anymore,' " she explained.

"I totally respect his decision to follow his heart," Lauren said. "I don't blame him for it, and I think it's made us stronger in the end."

Since reconciling in January, Lauren and Arie have not spent more than one week apart. The couple is planning to take a vacation before Lauren relocates from her current city of Dallas, Texas.

"I'm moving to Scottsdale," Lauren revealed. "And we're both very excited about marriage and starting a family."

"If we get lucky, maybe we'd have twins!" Arie, who wants two to four children, told People, adding that Lauren will also be eventually switching careers. "We plan on doing real estate together. We'll do some remodels. It'll be fun!"

On Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, the Bachelor couple also shared that they have already strated planning their wedding.
