Tessa Horst - Did You Know...?
Tessa Horst - Did You Know...?
The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman, wrapped up weeks ago, and you might have thought in the publicity blitz surrounding the finale, you learned everything there was to know about Tessa Horst, the woman to whom Andy Baldwin popped the big question. The popularity of this season resulted in so much interest by the public and coverage by the media that one of the papers in Andy’s current Hawaii home, the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, announced they were going to take a break from reporting on them at all.

However, people continue to be curious about and interested in the pair, whether from an optimism about the couple’s chances together or from a skepticism about the likelihood that a match made in reality television can last. So here are some additional details about Tessa, who, despite the media blitz, has remained somewhat of an enigma through the whole process.

First of all, as the Washington Post reports, “Horst's grandfather is one of the richest businessmen in Hong Kong.” But they’re not saying Andy’s a gold digger, as they confirm that “groom-to-be didn't know that until after he popped the question” on The Bachelor.

Despite her wealthy roots, Tessa apparently isn’t afraid to roll her sleeves up and do a hard day’s work. Before she began her graduate studies, she spent some time in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and worked as a waitress at the Silver Dollar Bar in The Wort Hotel, a famous local landmark, where her confidence and down-to-earth nature made her the object of a few local crushes. Her friends from that time found Tessa’s infamous introductory muffin joke absolutely perfect in that it “was totally, totally random, and that’s such her personality.”

Also, there was a lot of press around her supposed leak of the results on The Bachelor, but less attention paid to her emphatic denial that she was that tipsy source. She said in interview, "Yes, these rumors going around with The New York Post... I think that was an absolute fabrication.” She went on to say that she stuck by her contractual obligations, saying, "I never spoke about the show in public, and [the rumor] wasn't even true! It said that I turned down the proposal... and so we're moving past that."

She and Andy have been lying low lately, but you can always count on BuddyTV to bring you additional details as their relationship progresses.
