Shayne Lamas is following the footsteps of disgraced but now risen
Melissa Rycroft.
Lamas, 23, who won the last season of
The Bachelor (
Bachelor: London Calling), will star in her own reality show less than a year after she ended her engagement with
Matt Grant. In the same way Rycroft is now one of the frontrunners in fellow ABC reality show
Dancing with the Stars, Lamas will be the focus of an upcoming E! reality show.
The daughter of actor and heartthrob Lorenzo Lamas is reportedly ready to bare everything to the cameras, especially, of course, what it is like to be the daughter of the
Bold and the Beautiful star who has been married four times.
"It's Shayne working in the business, breaking in as an actress and dealing with her father and her various mother-in-law types," a source tells Celebuzz exclusively.
The ex-fiancé of Matt Grant, however, is not too keen on going the same road again as far as sharing her love life to the public. "Shayne has been burned before with the public relationship and doesn't want to go down that road," the source adds, conveniently forgetting that even
Shayne's own father admitted that her daughter thought appearing on
The Bachelor would boost her career.
Bachelor: London Calling ended beautifully for Lamas, with Grant dropping to one knee and presenting her with a giant engagement ring. Amid rumors of a split on July, 2008, the two announced that they broke off the engagement. "We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions," the two said in a joint statement.
Lamas, for her part, is no stranger to television. She has several screen credits to her name, including a stint on the long-running soap
General Hospital from 2005 to 2006, in addition to the 1999 television movie
Air America and the 2008 indie horror film
The 13th Alley, which premiered at the 2008 Portland Underground Film Festival.
