First came love, then marriage, and now Trista Sutter is in the final months of her first pregnancy with her husband, Ryan Sutter with whom she found love on the ABC reality program The Bachelorette.
And, as generally happens around this time in the pregnancy, Trista and her family recently celebrated and prepared for the impending arrival with a baby shower.
The shower was held on June 16th in Colorado, where Trista and Ryan now live. Friends and family, including Ryan's mother Barb Sutter, attended, bringing baby clothes and necessities that were, of course, the main gifts of the day. Gift-givers must have kept the colors neutral since the couple will not learn the sex of the child until the birth, currently planned for August 23rd.
Trista is thinking she might need to prepare for a C-section, saying, “My doctor said if the baby is big because I'm so small, she'll have to give me a c-section.”
Regardless of delivery method, Trista and Ryan are thrilled for their expected delivery. As she told US Weekly, “It took us a long time to get pregnant so it makes it that much sweeter. It's my dream to be a mom.”
Trista first came to national attention as Trista Rehn, one of the women vying for the heart of
The Bachelor on ABC. She then met Ryan Sutter when she had her own show as
The Bachelorette, and the two were married in December of 2003 on a nationally-televised ceremony (for which ABC paid them $1 million). Trista was also a contestant on the first season of Dancing with the Stars.
Since the pregnancy, though, the two have made it clear that there will be no additional reality television forays for their new family. Aside from the occasional article, the two seem content to be living a lower-key lifestyle in Colorado, where Ryan works as a fireman. The two continue to be one of the few success stories from the entire series of
The Bachelor.
