The 27-year-old daughter of The Apprentice's Donald Trump and wife Ivana is getting ready to tie the knot. Despite her father's success, Ivanka Trump has definitely established herself in the industry. As a businesswoman, socialite and fashion model to boot, there's no doubt plenty of bachelors would be lining up for her hand in marriage.
Unfortunately for any other aspiring suitors, Ivanka Trump has already chosen one man for herself. She recently announced her engagement to Jared Kushner, the owner of The New York Observer. In the trendiest way possible, the heiress revealed the news on her Twitter account.
Ivanka Trump, who has also been seen on
The Apprentice as a judge, related the thrilling event to her readers last Thursday. "I got engaged last night ... truly the happiest day of my life!!!" she wrote.
On a previous interview with
New York Magazine, Ivanka has been quoted as saying: "Jared and I are very similar in that we're very ambitious. That's what makes it so amazing to be in a relationship with someone who is supportive of that. I'm happy for him when he is in the office working late. I know how good that feels when you sit down and return e-mails."
According to the
New York Daily News, Jared Kushner's representative also confirmed the story to Gawker. It's certainly something to celebrate, particularly because it hasn't been an easy relationship for the pair.
Ivanka and Jared have been dating for the past two years, but soon split in 2008 because of the difference in their beliefs. Ivanka wasn't Jewish but her boyfriend and his family was. Now, however, she's hoping to please the Orthodox Kushners by converting at last.
Ever since Ivanka Trump reconciled with her fiancé, she has been studying Judaism under Rabbi Haskel Lookstein at Kehilath Jeshurun Synagogue on the upper East Side. Earlier reports revealed that her father Donald Trump wasn't too keen on the decision, but it seems as though he's relented.
"I'm very happy about it," the host of
The Apprentice told
Us Magazine. "They make a magnificent couple."
