New Zealand is a place I want to go. Anyone who has seen the Lord of the Rings
movies (which were filmed in New Zealand) know that the country is full of awe-inspiring locations, scenery unlike any other in the world. Unfortunately, New Zealand is really far away. Like, over twenty hours in a plane, and that's no fun for anyone. That's why The Amazing Race
is so nice to allow us wannabe travels to live vicariously through the teams on the race. On Sunday, teams will travel to Te Puke, New Zealand and I am jealous. Down to eight teams now, The Amazing Race
is trimming the fat, getting down to the best and most able teams on the race. We're due for a non-elimination leg pretty soon here, but I do not think it will be this week. You can count that as a mini-prediction.
Starr Will Be Fine
The Amazing Race is available on Amazon Prime.
As any astute TV fan knows, previews of upcoming episodes can be misleading. In the preview for Sunday's episode of The Amazing Race
, Starr thinks she has broken a bone. She says this calmly, and without tears or yelling. If she really had broken something, it would be pure agony. I've seen people break bones before, and it isn't pretty. They typically yell and scream (unless they're drunk or a jacked-up football player). Starr is just exaggerating, and she's going to be fine. Kelly and Christy will take a perverse pleasure in Starr's injury, which might give their feud more feul, but Starr will finish the leg without incident.
Someone Will Make an Epic Airport Blunder
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that there are no direct flights from La Paz, Bolivia to New Zealand. In all likelihood, teams will have to take at least two flights to get to the other side of the world, possibly three. Maybe they'll have to fly into Sydney first, maybe Lima, Peru. Regardless, there will be decisions to make for each team. The La Paz airport isn't all that great, and teams will be rushing to get out of there. One team will take a risky flight and be soundly punished for it.
Toni and Dallas Will Be Eliminated
I almost picked Marisa and Brooke again, but they're young enough and in good enough shape to weather the fatigue that some teams will face. Toni is currently the least physically fit person in the race, and I just think that she's going to be completely exhausted by the extensive travel and bring the team down. Toni and Dallas ran a great leg last episode, but their time on The Amazing Race
will soon be over.
