The Amazing Race 13 is approaching swiftly, and we've begun looking at each team in detail. No matter how deep we delve into each specific team, and no matter how many interviews we find with them, it's impossible to predict how teams will respond when they find themselves on
The Amazing Race. It's stressful and frantic. Today, we're going to take a gander at Andrew and Dan, the fraternity brothers from Arizona State University (aka “The STD Capitol of the World”). They are apparently nicknamed “Team Superbad,” probably because of their skinny guy/fat guy dynamic.
Occupations: Andrew is a senior at Arizona State University and is studying Urban Planning. Dan graduated from ASU last December with a degree in Tourism Management. It doesn't appear that he has snagged a full-time job as of yet.
Recent Team They're Similar To: I think I'm going to have to go with
Kevin and Drew, who were also best friends and frat brothers. Andrew and Dan are decidedly less east coast-ish than Kevin and Drew, but both should prove to be equally fratty.
Relationship: Fraternity brothers/friends
Chances to Win: You have to think that the odds are pretty good. They have experience in traveling, and are one of two all-male teams on
The Amazing Race this season. All-male teams have performed the best over
The Amazing Race's history. Neither look to be in great physical shape, but mental prowess can make up for that.
Initial Thoughts: Their video doesn't infuse me with much confidence in “Team Superbad.” They seem to think that they'll be able to win over the female teams via flirting and their “awesome travel knowledge” and then steer them in the wrong direction. We'll see, guys. The fact that one of them has extensive travel experience will definitely come in handy, and the two seem like good friends. There shouldn't be much in-fighting. However, I'm not sure if they're going to be terribly smart. Whether they win or not, the frat guys should be fun to watch.
