Usually we hear a lot about the winners of America's Next Top Model and what they've been busy with ever since their Cycle ended. We know how Eva Pigford-Marcille, Whitney Thompson, CariDee English and McKey Sullivan rose to fame outside of the show. But who's really heard about last season's Teyona Anderson?
Most of us were taken aback by how she beat crowd favorite Allison on Cycle 12, but just how far did she make it afterwards? Apparently, she's still trying to make it in the world of modeling. According to Today's Sunbeam, she's busy going from New York to South Africa. Oh, so that's why we could hardly keep up with her.
"Well most of my work has been done in South Africa," Teyona told the publication. "In NYC, I was meeting clients and things but I've done the most so far in South Africa."
It sounds like she's not relying on her contract with CoverGirl to succeed in the modeling industry. Some of her work has been on the runway, such as her appearances on Arise Cape Town Fashion Week and South Africa Fashion Week. She's also been involved in several photo shoots like those on "Destiny Magazine," the South African "Glamour" magazine, and another for "Shoot Magazine."
"I like runway better, but I also like photo shoots," she admitted. "I'm kind of torn between the two."
Still, what excites her most about being a model is all the traveling she's doing. It's allowed her to connect with the industry's best editors and designers. She's even headed to London after her stint in South Africa.
"My modeling experience is just starting out and I think it's going to be a great ride," Teyona exclaimed. Well, I didn't exactly root for her last season, but I'd like to see these models actually rise to the challenge. While it's never really enough to just win a reality show, there are already a handful of these models who actually made it big. As for Teyona, we've yet to see.
