'Survivor' Host on the Prowl: Jeff Probst Not Engaged, Once Dated Kristin Chenoweth

When dealing with a man crush, a heterosexual male must take special steps to avoid misconceptions. Man crushes generally arrive from a state of awe, a deep respect for the man crush, and nothing more.
Jeff Probst is damn good at his job as host of
Survivor. Instead of the typical detachment a host has from his subjects, Probst has a penchant for forming genuine relationships with his contestants, unafraid to show either appreciation or disdain for their behavior. He doesn't treat the
Survivor castaways with kid gloves. During tribal councils, he interrogates the contestants with unparalleled precision, unearthing truths that the players often have no intention of letting out. Now comes news that only enhances my fandom of Senor Probst. When
Pushing Daisies actress
Kristin Chenoweth announced the Emmy nominations last Thursday for Best Reality Host, she let slip a little secret. Four years ago, Kristin and Probst went on a date. Jeff Probst = Player.
Probst, still filming
Survivor: Gabon when the nominations came out, was surprised to find out that Chenoweth, when announcing the nomination, stated that he was engaged. This is, apparently, far from the truth.
Probst, speaking to People Magazine from Gabon, said "The funniest part of the whole announcement to me was hearing that I was getting married! Considering I'm not even in a serious relationship, that was a big shock to me. Perhaps in addition to being talented and beautiful, Kristin Chenoweth is also psychic!"
Well, now that that's been cleared up, I think Jeff should probably just swoop in. Though Chenoweth may not currently be available (she's supposedly dating some 25-year old), Probst/Chenoweth would immediately become my favorite Hollywood couple.
Probst is up against
American Idol's Ryan Seacrest,
Dancing with the Stars' Tom Bergeron,
Deal or No Deal's Howie Mandel and
Project Runway's Heidi Klum for the Best Reality Host Emmy. In a just world, Probst will take home that statue come Emmy night.
