Supernatural got off to its biggest start in three years for season 9, scoring 2.59 million viewers on its new night (that's the most viewers since season 6's fourth episode, "Weekend at Bobby's"). With the introduction of the angels and a new twist that finds Sam secretly possessed by Ezekiel, the show is getting back to some of its characters that were MIA in the premiere.

In "Devil May Care," Supernatural returns to the Men of Letters headquarters where prophet Kevin Tran is waiting patiently. He's less-than-thrilled about the fact that Crowley, the King of Hell, is still alive (probably because he killed Kevin's mom).

This new clip from the episode sees Sam and Dean explain their reasons for keeping Crowley alive, but they also promise Kevin that once he's finished being useful, the kid will get to avenge his mom's death.

There's also the issue of the fallen angels causing damage. And the demons. And monsters and ghosts. The Winchesters have a lot on their plates in season 9.

Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9pm on the CW.
