Ever wondered what it would be like to meet Lucifer? No words can probably describe how awful it's going to be but that's a dreadful reality that Sam and Dean are about to face when Supernatural kicks off its fifth season. And to give you an idea just how powerful Lucifer is, The CW has released a short clip in attempt to get fans even more excited for the new season.
The video, which lasts exactly 11 seconds and immediately picks up from last season's cliffhanger, doesn't really reveal that much except for the fact that Sam and Dean are about to face a very powerful enemy now that the door to Lucifer's prison is open. And while we don't get to see Lucifer's portrayer Mark Pellegrino yet, we get an idea of how the coming of Lucifer would sound like.
Based on this
Supernatural clip alone, I can't imagine how Sam and Dean are going to fight the apocalypse. It also makes me wonder how Lucifer's story plays out given that he will be portrayed as a "gentle, almost sympathetic" being, according to
Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.
A homage to John Milton's
Paradise Lost, "he was essentially betrayed, so in some ways he can be viewed sympathetically ... if we can make the angels dicks, Lucifer can be sympathetic." Kripke further describes the first fallen angel as a "Devil who has doubt" and "a lot of affection for God and the angels", and who "speaks really tenderly and gently and...doesn't lie."
All hell breaks loose on Monday, September 10 on The CW.
