Here's the official synopsis for the Supernatural season 7 premiere, "Meet the New Boss"

"Castiel doesn't kill Sam, Dean and Bobby but warns them not to interfere in his business. Assuming his new role as God, Castiel sets out to right some of the wrongs in the world. Dean decides they should bind Death and order him to stop Castiel, but the former angel is one step ahead of them, leaving Dean to face a very angry Death. Meanwhile, Sam struggles to deal with the broken wall in his head."

So what can we infer from this? Here's my analysis:

-It's good to know that Cas doesn't kill Sam, Dean and Bobby, but the fact that it's the first sentence doesn't bode well for Castiel's state of mind.

-Death is back! Hooray for Julian Richings and his delightfully creepy role as Death.

-Death is angry at Dean? It's bad enough having a power-hungry new God as an enemy, but now Dean has to battle Death as well?

-I'm happy the show didn't forget that the wall just came down and now Sam is one giant problem. We were promised that the wall falling would make him go nuts, but I'm guessing the return of Death (who built the wall) will have something to do with keeping Sam sane.

-Am I crazy for hoping Castiel tries to do some actual good as God? It sounds like he's going to do what everyone would do, which is try to solve the world's problems, but I suspect he'll go a tad overboard with his solutions.

Overall, any Supernatural season premiere is a good thing, but one that guest stars Julian Richings is even better. Friday, September 23 can't come soon enough.
