The angels are coming back to
Supernatural once again.
According to TVLine,
Amanda Tapping has landed the recurring role of Naomi for the show's
upcoming eighth season, a new kind of angel. In addition, the show has
also cast an Emmy-nominated star of the classic sitcom
M*A*S*H for a guest role.
Tapping, who starred on Syfy's
Stargate and
Sanctuary, will play Naomi, a cool and mysterious, no-nonsense angel from a group we haven't seen before. The role will recur throughout season 8.
Supernatural also cast
M*A*S*H vet Mike Farrell in a guest role for the eighth episode. He will play "an aging mentalist with a slippery grasp on reality," according to new showrummer Jeremy Carver.
Supernatural's eighth season begins Wednesday, October 3 at 9pm on the CW.
