The return of
Supernatural brought a ton of dark surprises and twists. Sam has apparently been staying after school with Professor Snape for some Dark Arts training, as he can now take out just about any demon he wants with a simple flick of the wrist. And Dean got a dire warning from his former reaper Tessa about how this “second chance” might not be all it's cracked up to be.
But what struck me the most about last night's episode was the way they killed off Pamela. This was her third episode on the show, and just as fans are starting to get used to her, they have a demon go and kill her. It's sad because there's probably a long and rich backstory that we never got to see for her.

Pamela Barnes (played by Traci Dinwiddie) was a cool woman who's psychic abilities made her fast friends with Uncle Bobby. That's a friendship I think we'd all like to see more of, if only so that Uncle Bobby could come back.
The biggest tragedy is how she lived a perfectly normal life until the Winchesters waltzed in and turned her life upside down. In their first meeting, she tried to summon the creature that pulled Dean out of Hell and her eyes were burned out in the process because she saw Castiel's true face. It's a pretty bad start to a relationship when you make her blind.
But she still helped them out, mostly because she enjoyed flirting with Sam and Dean. That could be the part I'll miss the most, as it was nice to see a character take notice of the fact that these demon-hunting brothers are a pair of stud muffins. Pamela didn't let her “Jesse Forever” tattoo get in the way. “Who's Jesse,” you ask? That's just another one of the unanswered questions of Pamela Barnes.
Hopefully death will not be the end of Pamela, as it hasn't been for so many others. But more importantly, let's hope her final words weren't prophetic ones. In the end, she told Sam and Dean to tell Bobby to go to Hell for ever introducing them to her. What she simply using an expression, or is it possible that she was foreshadowing Uncle Bobby literally being sent to Hell?
She also warned Sam against his powers, which aren't nearly as safe and righteous as he may think. Much like in all Greek myths, it's the blind person who sees the truth, so Sam had better start worrying about his fate if he keeps this up.
Supernatural isn't a show with a lot of recurring characters. At most, someone might pop in for two or three episodes before leaving for good. I was happy to see Pamela finally making it into recurring character status, but now that she's dead, there will be a severe lack of women commenting on Dean's fine ass.
