Don Sinclair Davis was born in Missouri on August 4, 1942. Davis is a character actor and also a painter. He earned his theater and art degree from Southwest Missouri State College, and his master’s degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. During the 1980s, Davis was balancing an acting career and a teaching job at the University of British Columbia. His television and film credits include The X-Files, Andromeda and Con-Air.

 

Major Gen. George Hammond is played by Don S. Davis on the Sci-Fi Channel original series Stargate SG-1. He is the head of the Stargate Command, replacing Major General West.
