If you're hoping to see more of Oliver or Davis on tonight's
Smallville, think again, because, much like on
Project Runway, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out. I'm beginning to think the writers just flip coins for each of the series regulars, and whoever's lands on heads gets to be in that episode.
The other reason could be that “Instinct” is all about Clark's raw sexual magnetism, and the only way
Smallville can achieve that illusion is by doing away with Justin Hartley and Sam Witwer. Sorry Tom Welling fans, but the Man of Steel is no longer the show's top hunk.
Tess Mercer is checking up on one of Lex’s top scientists who tested the crystal from the season premiere. The scientist calls it alien, but Tess doesn’t accept it, wanting a reasonable answer about how the crystal can help track down Lex. The scientist activates some frequency modulator which makes the crystal shoot a massive beam of light into the sky.
On the streets of Metropolis, some douchebaggy stockbroker meets Maxima, an alien chick who suddenly appears as if beamed down from outer space. She tells the guy that she’s the queen of another planet who came when she saw the Kryptonian beacon of light because it’s a symbol from her betrothed future husband. The leather-clad alien makes out with the stock broker and he dies because her kiss is fatal to non-Kryptonians. Maxima is kind of a slu
She then pays a visit to Tess, who gets a gift from Oliver Queen requesting her presence at the Ace of Clubs. Maxima hopes to find the source of the beacon. She wants her Kryptonian soul mate, but Tess doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Maxima gets jealous, believing the man who sent the gift is her soul mate, so she tosses Tess aside.
Apparently Clark is still living on the Kent farm with just his dog. That must be a heck of a commute every day to work. Lois calls him, complaining as always, so he speeds into work, but he makes a quick trip back home to feed the dog. Once he gets to the Daily Planet, Lois whines that Jimmy moved into their apartment and he snores. She wants Clark to quit pining over Lana and start dating some women who aren’t damsels in distress.
