Smallville starts its seventh season with a formulaic jolt as a startling link to Clark's (Tom Welling) past is unveiled when his teenage cousin from Krypton, Kara (Laura Vandervoort), is found alive on earth.  Better known to Superman fans as Supergirl, Kara joins Smallville's cast of character in a recurring capacity that will bring new eye candy for audiences, and even more character depth for Krypton's favorite son. 

The cliffhangers of season 6 will be resolved as audiences wait to see how Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) will make his highly publicized exit from the show.  All the while, a new menace in Bizarro awaits a challenge that could spell the end for the young Man of Steel.
