are tricky business, particularly if you're either a rich and famous Hollywood
star or a fictional character. In Shipping News each week, I'll break down for
you the three most note-worthy (to me!) relationships -- i.e., ships -- o' the
week into the Tip-Top Ship Shape (for the best ship of the week), That Ship Has
Sailed (for romances that fell apart) and You Sunk My Relation Ship (for the most
devastating moment in a romance we're shipping for). Got a duo you're totally
shipping for? Drop me a line in the comments, and you may see them featured
Tip-Top Ship Shape: Oscar and Naomi, 90210
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
What do you mean you're not watching 90210
? Oh yes you are. And if not, you should be. Not because of how awesome it is, but because of how awesomely bad it is. On what other show could you get Teddy, the totally straight guy who suddenly (seriously, suddenly
) is gay and going after the only other gay guy at school, who totally lives up to every gay stereotype (he choreographs! he's fashionable!), or Navid, who accidentally turned in his father for making child pornography, or Oscar, who tricked Ivy into sleeping with him to get back at her mom who apparently had an affair with his dad and long time ago, leading to the death of his mother?!
You'd also get the awesomeness that is Oscar paired up with totally over-the-top diva/trustafarian Naomi. And this week on 90210
, over a bowl of guacamole (or as Oscar says in his silly Southern-turned-British accent "gwackamole," which rhymes with "Whack-a-Mole"), those two finally sparked the beginnings of what I see to be a beautiful (for this show) relationship. I'm predicting green-card marriage in the season finale, so the handsome Brit can stay stateside. Thoughts? That Ship Has Sailed: Finn and Rachel, Glee
Rachel, Rachel, Rachel! How in this Glee
-ful world could you, even in your neurotic mind, think that cheating on Finn with Puck -- while you and Finn were a couple
-- was in any way the same thing as Finn sleeping with Santana when you weren't even together??? On the flip side (yes, even Rachel deserves a flip side), he lied, and Rachel was humiliated in front of the entire Glee
club. Team Finchel, anyone? Is it possible these two can come back from such a nasty breakup? I'm predicting not for a long time (especially since we're about to go on a two-month hiatus). You Sunk My Relation Ship: Bonnie and Jeremy, The Vampire Diaries
This week on The Vampire Diaries,
Jeremy risked his own life to try and keep Bonnie safe, finally admitting his true feelings to her, saying that it wasn't just a crush he had on his sister's friend. The two nearly
kissed, but Bonnie backed away at the last possible moment.
Why won't Bonnie let herself fall for Jeremy? I'm not sure, but with self-sabotage like this, it's no wonder this relationship was sunk before it even set sail.(Images courtesy of The CW and FOX)
