Elves, eggnog and Sarah Chalke? It's definitely one happy holiday for ABC as it airs Prep and Landing, an animated Christmas tale about an elite group of Santa's helpers. The television special is actually produced by Walt Disney Studios, with the project being headed by Pixar's John Lasseter. What's more, it stars one Scrubs actress in her first voice-over role.
Joining Sarah Chalke in donning elf suits this year is actor Dave Foley. The two of them play members of an elite high-tech group that travels the world preparing houses for Santa Claus' visit.
Chalke voices the character Magee, the caffeine-hyper and high-strung Christmas Eve Command Center Coordinator in the North Pole. She teams up with Wayne (Foley) and the rookie Lanny (Derek Richardson) in order to fulfill their mission of prepping a home for Santa.
The
Scrubs star was psyched for her role on
Prep and Landing, as she told
Sheknows.com in an interview. "It's the untold story of these elves that go to the homes and establish things on a whole nether level before Santa even gets there," Chalke said.
As for her character, she found Magee incredibly adorable. But we think she's a tad similar to Elliot Reid.
"She has this homemade jingle bell jewelry, jingling around all the time," Chalke explained. "She's chugging eggnog lattes so they can be awake for these crazy shifts they have to work. She's such a perfectionist and so high strung."
But enough about Chalke, here's a trailer of
Prep and Landing, which airs on ABC this holiday season. It certainly does look promising, and not just really cute. But with so many spy movies these days, this ABC special needs to stand out.
