Ken Jenkins

Ken Jenkins Biography:

Although Ken Jenkins has had a long and successful acting career, not many television viewers can cite him as a familiar face. This is because Jenkins’ acting prowess has mostly been witnessed on stage rather than on camera. He discovered his passion for acting when he was in high school and has since then appeared, directed and written plays, averaging about ten plays each year. He is also the co-founder of the highly-esteemed Actors Theater of Louisville, a non-profit organization which helped a number of well-known playwrights today get a head start in their careers. Nevertheless, achieving great recognition as a thespian did not make him a stranger to television and movies. He has had several guest appearances on different sc-fi series, such as the X-Files, Babylon 5 and Star Trek: the Next Generation and had minor roles in films like I am Sam and Gone in Sixty Seconds. Jenkins can now be seen regularly on the NBC comedy series Scrubs.

Dr. Bob Kelso, played by Ken Jenkins on Scrubs, is your typical Chief-of Medicine: he is mean, bitter and cruel to everyone and everything. He cannot seem to let go of the past, when he was out and about in the hospital corridors meeting patients, a task that has now been replaced with an office and a portrait hanging on the wall. He seems to take glee in the interns’ suffering and is quick to show everyone that he is in charge. But surprisingly enough, Dr. Kelso also possesses a softer side, as can be seen in his very own country songs.
