Tonight marks a special night in the realm of television, as Saturday Night Live airs its very own special, "SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas." Gilly, of course, means we're definitely going to see more of Kristen Wiig, the host of the evening.
Audiences must prepare as Wiig gets into her character, Gilly, a schoolgirl with the penchant of biting her lower lip and causing mischief. She'll be the one to take us through decades of Saturday Night Live sketches that have the holiday theme imbued in them. One of which is the famous Alec Baldwin one, Schweddy Balls.
"A Very Gilly Christmas" will be featuring 35 years worth of comedy, something no
Saturday Night Live fan should miss. Another special surprise that the presentation will have is the appearance of two great guests.
First is the aforementioned Alec Baldwin, who will be around to present "NPR's Delicious Dish and the Schweddy Balls." That's surely going to be a hoot to watch. Meanwhile, there's also
Saturday Night Live veteran Steve Martin with "A Holiday Wish."
There's bound to be more scenes to watch out for on "A Very Gilly Christmas," especially with the legacy of
Saturday Night Live. It means that the show will still be tolerable if you're not a fan of Kristen Wiig's kooky character. In between sketches though, we'll still have to deal with her.
Anyway, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin should be enough reason to catch this very Gilly special. If you're still not sold on that, they're also showing Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg's "D**k in a Box." There will also be some new sketches to be seen, just to keep things fresh for the audiences.
Besides,
Saturday Night Live is always delivers good fun during the holidays. It even does that for no special occasion. With that said, don't forget to catch the two-hour special, "A Very Gilly Christmas", tonight on NBC.
