Christina Applegate makes a triumphant return to television as the star of the new ABC sitcom, Samantha Who?.On the show, Samantha is the victim of a hit-and-run accident and wakes up eight days later with amnesia. She can't remember her friends, her family, her boyfriend, or anything else from her past.

The cast is very strong with her parents being played by Jean Smart and Kevin Dunn. Smart is known for her comedic work on Designing Women and Frasier, and also took a dramatic turn in the last two seasons of 24.aspx">24. Much of Dunn's work has been done on the big screen, most recently appearing in Transformers but had short stints over the last few years on Boston Legal, Prison Break, and 7th Heaven. One of the stars of 7th Heaven, Barry Watson, plays Samantha's boyfriend. Todd. Watson appeared on last year's What About Brian, which failed to bring in a strong audience. Here's hoping Samantha Who? brings him better luck.

Once Samantha talks to those around her, she realizes she wasn't such a nice person before the accident. Prior to her accident, she had a dependency on alcohol and was cheating on Todd with a married man. When she sees what she was like in her past, she looks to her future to change for the better. Samantha decides to surround herself with better people, starting with Todd's doorman, Frank, who she never would have talked to before.

Given this opportunity to start over, she takes advantage to make things right for herself and those around her. The sneak preview on ABC seems funny and upbeat and viewers are all too familiar with Applegate's dead on comedic timing. Samantha Who? was created by Cecelia Ahern and Donald Todd. Todd and Peter Traugott serve as executive producers.  The show premieres wedged between ABC's two big reality shows, Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor.
