ABC's
Samantha Who? has given
Lost alum Kiele Sanchez a guest-starring role on its upcoming freshman run. Sanchez joins former
Invasion star Eddie Cibrian on the show's guest-star lineup for this fall.
Samantha Who? revolves around Sam, a woman who upon incurring retrograde amnesia goes on a quest for self-discovery, only to find out that she isn't exactly the ideal person. The show stars
Christina Applegate as Sam,
Barry Watson as Sam's live-in boyfriend, Todd,
Melissa McCarthy as Dena and
Jennifer Esposito as Andrea. Veteran actors
Kevin Dunn and
Jean Smart also appear on the series as Sam's seemingly supportive and loving parents.
As for Kiele Sanchez, who, like Cibrian, is slated for a multi-episode arc on
Samantha Who?'s debut season, the 29-year-old actress will play a woman who romances Watson's Todd. Incidentally, Sanchez and Cibrian, who will play Applegate's new love interest on the sitcom, both landed starring roles on ABC's
Football Wives, but the show was not among the network's fall shows when the lineup was first announced in May, indicating that it had not been picked up by the network.
Viewers last saw Sanchez on the small screen on
Lost, wherein she played Nikki Fernandez. She debuted on the show during the third season, but because of negative fan reception, her character was written off after only 11 episodes.
Kiele Sanchez' other acting credits include
Related, Married to the Kellys, Modern Men, That Was Then, Four Kings, Girls on the Bus and
Stuck on You. She is also working on an upcoming film called
Insanitarium.
The series premiere of
Samantha Who? will air on Monday, October 15. Originally, the show was entitled
Sam I Am, but in June, encountered some legal problems with Dr. Seuss, who filed a copyright infringement claim against the show. The network promptly changed the title to
Samantha Be Good, but ultimately settled on the show's current name.
