After a record debut season (one of the highest rated shows on cable, actually), USA series
Royal Pains is set to welcome two guest stars when it returns for its second season June 3.
24's Mary Lynn Rajskub and Oscar Winner Marcia Gay Harden are
both slated to join Mark Feuerstein on the Hamptons-set show. Rajskub will play "a girl who does yoga on diet pills," while Harden will play a surgeon and board member of Hamptons Heritage Hospital.
Harden won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Actress for
God of Carnage and the Academy Award for
Pollock, not to mention a nod for
Mystic River.
On the inaugural season of
Royal Pains, up-and-coming surgeon Hank Lawson (Feuerstein) was fired from his job at a Brooklyn hospital for making a decision that killed a very important person. Dumped by his girlfriend, he underwent the normal stuff: watching TV in his boxers until his brother took him to a party at the Hamptons, where his McGyver-like skills saved someone.
He and "HankMed" never looked back since. The first run ended August last year, reeling in a massive 5.9 million viewers.
