Anjali Jay is an English actress of Indian descent who grew up in Bangalore, India. She first came to prominence on the show Blind Dating although ironically, she has never been on a blind date herself. She became more recognizable as the character Djaq on the series Robin Hood. She also previously played the role of Juliet in a touring production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. She also did radio work as Hester on The Making of a Marchioness.

Djaq, played by English/Indian actress Anjali Jay on Robin Hood, is a Saracen being transported as a slave. She is initially disguised as a boy until she is found out by Will Scarlett. Her true name is Saffiya and only took on her twin brother’s name while passing herself off as male. The daughter of a physician, Djaq also has some knowledge of chemistry and medicine.
