'Rizzoli & Isles': Mark-Paul Gosselaar Snags Guest Role
As expected, we're getting a little dash of romance on a crime series led by two ladies. Mark-Paul Gosselaar is set to appear in an episode of the upcoming TNT series Rizzoli & Isles, according to TVGuide.com.

Gosselaar, who last appeared in another TNT series, Raising the Bar -- but is perhaps best known for his turn in the '90s sitcom Saved by the Bell -- will appear in the series' sixth episode, as Garrett Fairfield, the girlfriend of Sasha Alexander's character, medical examiner Maura Isles.

His character, who is part of one of Boston's oldest and wealthiest families, returns to the city to mourn the death of his older brother. That death is being investigated by the police, with detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) being distracted by her partner Maura's wealthy background.

Gosselaar's turn on Rizzoli & Isles comes before the premiere of another TNT series, the legal drama Frankin & Bash, where he appears alongside Malcolm MacDowell and Breckin Meyer. He also recently signed on for a guest role on the upcoming season of Showtime's Weeds.

Rizzoli & Isles premieres on July 12 on TNT.
