Valarie Rae Miller was born on April 16, 1974 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was raised in Fort Worth, Texas. At a young age, she was interested in acting and later on attended a high school for the performing arts. She also landed numerous high-profile commercials as a college student. On one summer vacation in Los Angeles, she took a course in stand up comedy and performed at clubs such as The Improv and The Comedy Store. Miller was then offered to tour with her stand up routine, however, she turned down the offer so she could pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. She is best known for her role as the first Cindy McEachin in Dark Angel, a role she played for a couple of years. Her other television credits include One Saturday Morning, In the House, and Smith.
Josie is played by Valarie Rae Miller in the television series Reaper. Josie is the ex-girlfriend of Bert "Sock" Wysocki, Sam's buddy. She later on became a paralegal, whereas Sock and Sam took on jobs of a different nature. On his 21st birthday, Sam is visited by Satan himself, not to punish him but to reveal to him his real identity. Sam is the Reaper, the one responsible for hunting down escaped souls from Hell.
