The Pussycat Dolls Present: 'Girlicious' Performs for the Troops and Nichole Dishes on Being New Celebrities
Nichole Cordova,
Tiffanie Anderson,
Chrystina Sayers and
Natalie Mejia have come a very long way from being four very simple young ladies with dreams of making it big in the music industry to today's newest girl band performers who are ready to take on the world. In fact, the four teens have already recorded their self-titled debut album, which hits retail stores on July 1st under Geffen Records. Their first two singles, "Like Me" and "Stupid S---" are already available for purchase/download on iTunes, and their videos are all over music video channels everywhere.
"It has been amazing. It’s just like a dream come true," Cordova told Enterprise News. "I have a record deal! It’s a dream come true."

Girlicious PRIVATE SHOW at Maxim:

Of course, being on the reality search had its down sides, such as having to live secret lives while the show airs, especially for the winners. By the time
The Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious was airing, the four girls were already sneaking around, going into the studio, recording their debut album and shooting music videos.
“It was really the hardest thing ever, especially for me because I had to move away from Texas. That was so hard,” Cordova recalled. “I couldn’t tell any of my friends from Texas what was going on. I could only tell my closest family, like my mom. It was really hard, especially when people ask you what you’ve been doing and what you’re doing. You can’t really say anything. It was nine months, and we all lived secret lives.”
While in the studio, the girls were given the opportunity to work with established producers such as Fair, and record a track with the up and coming hip-hop artist Flo Rida. Despite being the same brainchild of
Robin Antin, who also created the concept for the Pussycat Dolls, Girlicious describes their sound and style as very different from their big sister Dolls.
“Our album is really high-energy, urban pop,” says Cordova. “It definitely has some of the down-south flavor, and I’m proud of that. It really came together so nicely.”
Unlike any other girl band, the ladies of Girlicious all do vocals on the album. In fact, Cordova says, “We’re definitely lucky to have that. With this group, we’re all equal, and that’s such an amazing thing. We are pretty unique. And if you want us to sing, we’ll sing right on the spot. I love the fact that we can do that, and I think that does separate us.”
Nonetheless, these young ladies still want to align themselves with the Pussycat Dolls, whom they hope to get to perform with one day.
“Robin’s [Antin] been thinking about the tour,” Cordova said. “We definitely would love to go on tour with the Pussycat Dolls. That would be the dream tour – two really hot girl groups.”
The ladies of Girlicious have already begun giving America a taste of what’s to come, as they performed on Thursday’s America: United in Support of Our Troops Free Concert held at Del Mar Beach. Among that night’s performers were Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, The Pussycat Dolls, Jordin Sparks and Ne-Yo. The event was sponsored by Marine Corps Community Services.
As for now, the girls are continuing to work hard and promote themselves as the newest most Girlicious ladies on the block.
“I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out, and I’m so happy that people are interested. As time goes by, hopefully, it will get bigger and bigger,” Cordova said. “We’re just trying to get our name out there and show that we are legit. We are a real girl group even though we came from a TV show. We’re real artists and real dancers.”
