Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious

Last night, Jamie became the second doll eliminated from Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll.  After watching Anastacia, Melissa S., Mariela, and Asia rock the house with their routine to En Vogue's Free Your Mind, Jamie knew her group would have to keep their performance tight if they wanted to stand a chance.  Unfortunately, they failed to impress the judges, and Jamie was sent home.  

Jamie took some time out of her busy schedule to chat with us at BuddyTV earlier today.  Check out the interview after the jump to hear her thoughts about last night’s elimination, her predictions on who will become the next Doll, and what she’s up to now.

BuddyTV: What were you doing before the show?

Jaime: Before the show I was just working in New York City.  I wasn’t really recording; I was just taking dance classes.  You know nothing was working for me and the show was such a great opportunity for me to get started with what I really want to do, and pursue my career.


What events took place that kind of got you involved with the show and how did that whole process happen for you?

Oh, okay.  Well I was at dance class, which is a class that I usually normally didn’t take so I just happened to be there.  It was like a Wednesday night, you know randomly and they were scouting at the dance school for the show and they were handing out fliers and they were like, “Anybody who wants to come audition…” And this was in New York so I just went.


Were you pretty confident that you’d be selected as one of the nine finalists to enter the house?

I was so shocked.  I was so shocked.  I wish they did a close up of my face because I think my jaw just dropped.  I’m like, “What?”  Everything that I’ve been doing with the show it’s just so great and so unexpected.  I guess it’s happening for a reason, you know?


So talking about last night, Jamie, what did you think of your make over?

Oh, I loved it! I thought it was great.  That’s exactly what I wanted them to do with my hair and everything so I was very happy with it.


Going into your performance last night; did you feel a lot of pressure going into your performance after watching the first group, Anastacia, Melissa S., Mariela and Asia, perform their routine?

Yes, I did because they did great.  We kind of just all looked at each other and were like, “Okay, we got to do it good.”  And we on these boxes and we just had a totally different performance so it’s really hard to judge both of them, you know?  Because it was just two totally different songs and two totally different outfits and two totally different vibes.  And I remember I had these like 6-inch heels on and I was on this box when we start off and I felt like I was going to fall the entire time.  But luckily I didn’t fall.


The judges were pretty tough on your performance.  Did you agree with their feedback?

Uh, yeah.  I always agree.  Some of it, you know, it was just so different…I don’t know.  I just wish that we, I guess the other group did something similar like in a rock environment and not necessarily so thrown off.  But I definitely agree with some of the stuff. It could have been tighter.  I just wish we had more time to rehearse; we didn’t really have that much time at all. We had like two rehearsals maybe?


How surprised were you when the judges announced that you would be going home?

I was a little shocked about that.  But I kind of had a feeling.  You know when you just know something is going to happen; I guess I kind of just knew it was going to happen.  I was shocked and I wasn’t.  I was sad to leave but I was also happy to go home and you know, go back to my bed. I mean I’m one of those people that I’m not going to break myself down for it.  But I’m very thankful for how far I got it.  Out of all those girls I can’t believe I made it to 8 you know?  It’s crazy.
