Her conquest of Project Runway
season two was what made Chloe Dao
a household name. Although there where many promising fashion designers on the competition, she soared with her “young, sexy yet timeless” designs, which earned her $100,000 to start her own fashion line, a 12-month contract with Designers Management Agency, A Saturn Sky Roadster and a spread in Elle magazine.
Life after the Project Runway
proved to be more promising for the 34-year old native of Laos as the media attention positively exposed her own women’s clothing boutique in Houston called Lot 8. In line with the flourishing demands of her business, she was able to double the size of her boutique and even launched her own hair salon. She also ventured with Dove for its “Sleeveless Ready” Ultimate Clear campaign. Most recently, she debuted her new 13-piece sportswear collection, Simply Chloe Dao, on QVC.
At present, Dao is juggling the demands of her booming clothing line, as well as her plans for expansion. She aspires to open a few more boutiques and salons around the country and also open an online store.
