Perhaps one of the most anticipated fall shows this year is the Grey's Anatomy spin off, Private Practice.  Fans of Grey's were treated to a sneak peek at the new show last season when they did a crossover episode, "The Other Side of Life."  In the episode, Addison gets tired of Seattle life, McDreamy, and McSteamy, and drives to Los Angeles to meet up with some old medical school friends.  It was a way to set up the characters so that when Private Practice premieres, we feel like we already know them.

The cast is made up of many strong players who have had hot and cold runs on television in the past.  Tim Daly is most well known for his role on Wings but most recently, played a cop on the short lived drama, The Nine on ABC.  On the show, he plays Dr. Pete Wilder, Addison's love interest.  Addison's best friends, Naomi and Sam, are played by Taye Digs and Audra McDonald.   Though Diggs has found success on the big screen, his last two shows, Day Break and Kevin Hill, bombed.  He has, however, had strong guest appearances on Will & Grace and The West Wing.  Broadway star McDonald was cast amid controversy and replaced Merrin Dunguey in the role of Naomi.

Paul Adelstein joins the cast fresh from his stellar performance on Prison Break and plays Dr. Cooper Freedman on Private Practice.  Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Amy Brenneman plays Dr. Violet Turner, and fans know her from her role on Judging Amy.  Other supporting cast members include Chris Lowell and KaDee Strickland.  Of course, as the lead in the show, Kate Walsh turns in brilliant performances as Addison Montgomery and hopefully, this powerful cast delivers enough to keep the show on the air for a long time.
