Despite
Peter Stormare’s exposure in theater and in film, he drew massive attention when he was cast on the action-thriller series
Prison Break. As John Abruzzi, Stormare played his first major character on television. He was the boss of the Chicago Mafia until he was incarcerated and became one of the privileged prisoners at Fox River State Penitentiary. Sentenced to 120 years without parole, he devoted his time in seeking revenge on Otto Fibonacci, a witness to the crimes committed by Abruzzi. Initially, Stormare was featured as a regular cast member, showcased on every episode until his character’s injury in the thirteenth episode of season one. Six episodes later, he returned to the plot as a recurring guest star but was later killed off in the fourth episode of season two. Despite his character’s death, he appeared in a brief flashback in the episode entitled “Fin Del Camino.”
Following
Prison Break, he guest starred in an episode of
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation entitled Ending Happy, in which he played the character George “Binky” Babinkian. He also starred films like
Premonition, where he played role of Dr. Norman Roth, and
Hoppet, a drama about two brothers who got separated from their family, ending up in a new country. He was also cast in the short feature entitled
Never Found Her as the character Woods.
Stormare’s career appears to be flourishing as he is slated for 8 new acting gigs. He is currently filming
Anamorph, an independent movie based on the concept of anamorphosis, a painting technique that maneuvers the laws of perspective to generate two opposing images on a single canvas. He will also star in movies such as
Svartvattne, Straight Edge, Witless Protection, Boot Camp as Norman Hail,
Tatt av kvinnen as Glen,
The Horsemen as Mr. Spitz, and
Varg as Klemens.
