Lincoln Burrows Born on February 17, 1970 in Merseyside, England, Dominic Purcell and his family, which consisted of his parents and his four younger siblings, relocated to Sydney, Australia when Purcell was only two years old. After some time, his father, who was an officer for the Norwegian Merchant Navy, left the family. As a student, Purcell failed to finish his secondary education. After dropping out, he started working as a landscaper. Having perceived artistic people as peculiar individuals, it was quite unexpected when Purcell decided to try out acting. He enrolled at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and it was there that he became schoolmates with actors Hugh Jackman and Frances O'Connor.
After graduating, Dominic Purcell quickly landed a leading role in the Australian television series Raw FM. Soon thereafter, Purcell was cast as a nemesis in the feature film Mission: Impossible 2 starring Tom Cruise and directed by John Woo. Purcell's additional feature credits include Blade: Trinity opposite Wesley Snipes, 3-Way, Equilibrium and Visitors. His other television credits include the title role in the FOX action-drama series John Doe, as well as First Daughter opposite Mariel Hemingway and Moby Dick with Gregory Peck and Patrick Stewart. In 2006, People Magazine hailed Purcell as one of the Sexiest Men Alive, and in the following year, he appeared in the suspense/ thriller Primeval.
Currently, Purcell portrays prisoner Lincoln Burrows in the series Prison Break. The role requires him to frequently travel from his home in Los Angeles to the show's set in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife, Rebecca have four children, two of whom are twins. He is very devoted to his family, and admits to spoiling his children tremendously, even if they do call him "Stupid Daddy Fathead." A lover of the outdoors, Purcell enjoys going to the beach in order to surf and soak up some sun.
