Caleb got shot, Hanna kissed Wren and it turns out
Toby's part of the A Team -- how much more drama and how many more secrets can there be?
At least another season's worth, as ABC Family renewed the hit show for its fourth go-around, specifically 24 one-hour episodes for mid-2013.
The news comes just in time as
Pretty Little Liars returns for one night from its
explosive summer finale with a Halloween special Oct. 23, including a performance from Adam Lambert, which will air Oct. 23. The rest of Season 3 will air in January 2013.
Based loosely on the young adult book series by Sara
Shepard, the show premiered in 2010, setting ABC Family's record for
most-watched premiere episode and is now the network's most watched show
of all time.
The show follows a high school
clique, which falls apart after their leader disappears. The other girls
of the clique start getting threatening messages from "A," who says
their secrets will be exposed. The girls think it's the leader herself
-- but she winds up dead.
The continued popularity promoted ABC Family to create the Web series
Pretty Dirty Secrets. This week's webisode is a
cryptic look into Shana's phone after she leaves it on the counter at a Halloween store.
The
careers of the show's actresses have also taken off. Lucy Hale, who
plays Aria, has a country album in the works and is among the names
rumored to take on Anastasia Steele in the 50 Shades of Grey movie.
