Leslie Grossman was known as the idiotic and bubbly cheerleader on the television series
Popular. From 1999 to 2001, she portrayed Mary Cherry, a student Jacqueline Kennedy High School who belonged to the “popular” group. Throughout the show, she was perceived as spoiled and rude, especially to those who didn't belong to her type of crowd. In the coming months, the 35-year-old actress will be marking her comeback as she stars in a comedy film and a TV show.
On March 14, 2008, the former
Popular actress will be providing humor in the movie
Spring Breakdown. Directed by Ryan Shiraki, the storyline revolves around three 30-something friends who takes a vacation on an island famous for spring break getaway for college co-eds to put some excitement to their monotonous and uninspired lives. The comedy flick also stars Parker Posey and Missi Pyle.
On the small screen, she'll be part of a group of late night bar regulars who hang out until the wee hours of the morning on the show
Up All Night. She'll be taking on the role of Erika, along with Sarah Mason (
7th Heaven) and Gillian Jacobs (
The Book of Daniel). The pilot is currently in pre-production stages and is expected to broadcast on CBS.
Following a series of guest roles after her stint on
Popular, Leslie Grossman landed the role of Lauren on the series
What I Like About You, starring
Amanda Bynes and
Jennie Garth (
Beverly Hills 90210). She also became part of
The Jake Effect as Kimmy Ponder, a character she portrayed for six episodes. Most recently, she was seen on
Notes from the Underbelly, Help Me Help You and in the film
What We Do Is Secret.
