While we still don't know what Mitch Ryan's arrival means for the rest of the residents of Tree Hill, I'm assuming that he's being possibly groomed to come between Brooke and Julian.  After all, Ryan will portray "a handsome pro surfer-turned-young mogul."

The words "young mogul" alone gives the impression that Ryan's character is Brooke's male counterpart, but more info about the handsome surfer suggest that he could really stir things up between Julian and Brooke's rocky relationship. Evidently, he has turned his surfing success into all things cool and relevant (fashion, video games, and music).  He's also the kind of guy who can guest edit a magazine for a month, invest in a new vodka, and consult on a line of surf wear or a video game release. Coincidentally or not, his name is Alexander.

As of this moment, there is no word yet on when Ryan's first episode on One Tree Hill will air. He can next bee seen in the Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's HBO miniseries The Pacific.
