Carrie Fisher is best known for her portrayal of Princess Leia in the box office phenomenon Star Wars. She is also known in the literary front as author of The New York Times best-seller "Postcards from the Edge," for which she also wrote the screenplay for. The film, which starred Meryl Streep and Shrley MacLaine, was produced in 1990. She was recently co-host, with Robert Osborne, of the 2007 season of TCM's The Essentials.
